TEXTING WHILE DRIVING CAUSES CAR ACCIDENTS.

A recent article from CBS New York claimed you are 23 times more likely to be in a car accident if you are texting while driving.  Whether or not the statistic is totally accurate, there is no question that texting while driving is a dangerous hazard.  It’s obvious that a driver’s attention cannot be fully directed at her/his driving while trying to read or create a text.

The article went on to cite statistics that 1.6 million accidents are attributed to texting while driving in addition to 11 teen deaths a day.  That is startling.

The New York Institute of Technology utilized a driving simulator to instruct students on the dangers of texting while driving.  The simulator was effective in helping students understand that anything less than 100% concentration on driving is dangerous.  Click here to read the full article.
