TEXTING WHILE DRIVING CAUSES CAR ACCIDENTS.
A recent article from CBS New York claimed you are 23 times more likely to be in a car accident if you are texting while driving. Whether or not the statistic is totally accurate, there is no question that texting while driving is a dangerous hazard. It’s obvious that a driver’s attention cannot be fully directed at her/his driving while trying to read or create a text.
The article went on to cite statistics that 1.6 million accidents are attributed to texting while driving in addition to 11 teen deaths a day. That is startling.
The New York Institute of Technology utilized a driving simulator to instruct students on the dangers of texting while driving. The simulator was effective in helping students understand that anything less than 100% concentration on driving is dangerous. Click here to read the full article.
